The first Windows 11 Insider Preview build for 2022 has been released by Microsoft. The Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22526 has begun to trickle out to Dev Channel users. For those who are unaware, it is used to test new Windows features before they are included (or not) in the stable version for regular users. Here is a list of all of the new features that have been added.
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22526 Released
Although the new edition of Windows 11 Insider Preview does not include many new features or updates, there is one item that will pique people’s interest. When utilizing Apple’s AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Pro Max, Windows 11 Insider build 22526 supports wideband speech. This will improve the audio quality in general, particularly during calls.
As part of a new experiment, the Windows 11 ALT + TABs will be displayed as windowed rather than full-screen in the update. Windows 11 will index more file locations, making it considerably easier to find files in Files Explorer. Also included in Insider Preview Build 22526 are fixed for File Explorer, Search, Widgets, Spotlight Collection, and more.
Credential Guard will be activated by default on Enterprise E3 and E5 licensed PCs that are enterprise-joined in Windows 11 build 22526 for enterprise users. Credential Guard is a solution that protects secret and important data by isolating it using virtualization-based security. Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows Server 2016 were the first to include this feature.
Since the new build has begun to roll out, you can check for it by going to Settings -> Windows Update -> Check for Updates (if you’re a member of the Insider program). It’s unclear whether these new features will be included in the next major Windows 11 upgrade, which is expected later this year.
