TikTok Starts Testing “TikTok Stories” Feature to Rival Instagram

The popular short video platform TikTok has begun testing its short story format to compete with Instagram. A new feature called TikTok Stories allows creators to post short videos, which will automatically disappear after 24 hours. This is similar to the way Stories provides users with work on other social platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra opened the new TikTok Stories feature, which Twitter shared the news. The company later confirmed to The Verge that it had begun testing the feature and it is currently available to some users.

TikTok Stories can now work like Stories format on any other platform. You can access it by sliding your finger on the homepage, and it allows users to share small pieces of content with various interactive elements on TikTok. It automatically cleans up every other day. The user can touch. The newly added “New” button on the left sidebar is used to create and share stories. You can also add subtitles, music, and text to your story to make it more interesting and interactive.

In addition, users can switch to the content creator profile to view their stories. You can also reply to and comment on the story before deleting it after 24 hours. However, unlike WhatsApp or Instagram, TikTok Stories allows users to share videos instead of pictures.

“We’re always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience. Currently, we’re experimenting with ways to give creators additional formats to bring their creative ideas to life for the TikTok community,” a spokesperson stated in a statement to The Verge. Here’s what the Tiktok Stories flow looks like:

For those who don’t know, the Stories format has become one of the most popular cloning features since Snapchat’s debut in 2013. Since its inception, several companies such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and even Twitter have added this format. It is short-lived for their platform. We recently saw Twitter shut down the Stories feature called Fleet on August 3.

There are a large number of content creators on TikTok. However, it remains to be confirmed when or whether TikTok will release this feature to the public in the future. In addition, the story function can bring more users to the platform because it hopes to return to India and solve their problems with the US government.
