Imagine this. You are home, in your own little bubble of comfort, all set to Netflix and chill. You scroll through the Netflix for good 5 minutes but nothing interesting pulls up. 10 minutes go by, still nothing, 20. 40.
Nope! Not so good movie night, is it? Guess what? Netflix now has a solution for that.
The company with 200 million paid subscribers has now officially announced that all the TV users will have a shuffle button that will help them when they just cannot decide what to watch.
After 200 million paid subscribers’ achievements, the digital streaming giant confirmed the shuffle button it has been testing for all users since last year. The shuffle button, known for its TV app as “Play Something”, has already been announced by Netflix on April 29, 2021.
Once you click on the button “Play Something,” Netflix will look at your watch history and then play your brand new series or film, series or movie that you are already watching or your movie or unfinished series or movie that you may want to watch again. This is how to analyse your watch history. You may nevertheless click the “Play Something” button again to play some other content if you do not like the content it plays.
In several locations within the TV app, the new “Play Something” button resides. The Netflix homepage shows the tenth row, underneath your profile name or the menu bar on the left of the screen (shown above).
So it won’t be an option to scroll indecisively through Netflix. In addition, Netflix expects this new button to keep more users on the platform, in turn encouraging them to see something on this platform. Netflix will however depend on the quality of the content it delivers for the success rate of the Playing Something button.
